About the Catholic Women’s League

Friendship, involvement and participation in the issues that make a difference to this world at a local, national and global level are just some of the reasons women join the CWLA.

Whether you want to raise money locally for Pink Ribbon Day (and have fun in the process) or be involved in award winning programs like the Community Visitors Scheme, or you want to be part of the international campaign to end human trafficking, joining CWLA offers a wide spectrum of social, political and spiritual activities to meet the needs of all members.

CWLA is a national non-government and non-profit organisation, whose aim is to uphold the dignity of women and promote the spiritual, cultural, intellectual and social development of women.

As a member of many national and international organisations, Catholic Women’s League Australia liaises with all levels of government on issues that affect the fabric and structure of our society. CWLA is also a member of many women’s organisation networks that lobby governments – individually and as part of these groups. CWLA works on issues that affect women, children and family life.

“How often have I wanted to put my arms around all – as a hen gathers her brood under her wings” (Matthew 23:37).

The Catholic Women’s League meet on the Fourth Wednesday of each month, alternating between the churches of Forestville (Our Lady of Good Counsel) and Davidson (St Martin de Porres).
